Myspace bulletins

Hai gais, your friendly neighborhood Jrockvisual Admin, Same here.

I wanted to take a sec to  mention something that bugs the hell outta me.  Most of you likely won’t even bother to read this, and honestly, that’s fine.  So here goes…

Most of us, at one point or another have posted a myspace bulletin, for the most part there’s no way to exist on Myspace without posting one.  But have you ever taken the time to stop and think before hitting the post button?

To think of how many people see your bulletins?  Every single person on your friends list.  “Well, duh!!!”  You say.  But consider it this way, if you’re a music fan, every musician myspace on your f-list sees your bulletins, or at least has the potential to.  Do you honestly think ANYONE wants to see 15 bulletins in a row telling them exactly what you’re doing at any point in time?  Or a bulletin telling everyone that you “claim” so and so from such and such band?

The answer is a huge resounding NO.

Seriously, people think before you post that crap.

I know that not every artist maintains their own myspace, but some do.  And those that do really DON’T want to see that crap.  Beyond that, think of what kind of impression that can give foreign artists?

We are a Jrock blog, and as such we have a lot of Jrock lovers and artists on our F-list, and I know that most of you reading this do too.  Do you realize that constant posting and re-posting of “omg he’s so hawt” bulletins can give a horrid impression, not only of you as a person, but of your entire country?

With that thought in mind, I’m going to start knocking people OFF our Myspace F-list who repost bulletins like that.  Or who post 15 bulletins in 5 minutes just cause they want attention.

Will that totally decrease our already small amount of Friends?  Yes.  But the ones that we have left will be ones that care for more than just an artist’s look.
